Are bipolar women capable of true love?
spencer asked:
Are women with bipolar 1 and 2 really capable of true love? being in love? especially if they dont take their meds on a regular basis? can the manic state really confuse their feelings to the point where they think they are in love but they really aren’t? if so, exactly how long can these manic episodes last? Days, weeks, months?

Of course she is capable- i suffer from very severe depression so i understand that sometimes feelings can get a little confused but one thing is for sure you know when you are in love and that feeling is always going to be true to you whatever your state of mind

Wow, no wonder there is such a stigma about mental heath.
But to answer your question: YES we bi-polar woman are more than capable of true love.

Certainly. I’m manic depressive, prefer to be unmedicated, and consider both that term and ‘bipolar’ to inaccurately describe the condition. Many manic depressives live mostly on a plateau whereby they are neither manic nor depressive. Both mania and depression occur in episodes and do not necessarily account for general mindset or emotions. It can be hard to focus on everyday situations when at either pole, but it doesn’t change actual feelings when the episode subsides.
Some manic episodes can last days, some weeks, some months. Severity and longevity are specific to onset, individual sufferer and external and internal factors. Ask your partner to involve you in her mental health, treatment and feelings of wellbeing, and to talk to you about her feelings. She’s the one best-suited to explain her individual health and needs.

Of course, they just have mood swings.

yes they are but to make things easier they do need to be encouraged to take their medication….for somemreason ppl with bipolar seem to not take their medication as soon as they feel they are better…what they dint seem to understand is to feel better all the time they need to continue to take their medication.

Yes, I’ve been married to the most wonderful woman for almost 11 years, and she is bi-polar. And her love for me is as real as anybody else’s which gets her through her many mood swings, especially when she is rapid-cycling,where her mood literally changes by the minute. And I know where she’s been, because I am bi-polar myself. So yes, both men AND women with bi-polar ARE capable of true love! It takes patience, understanding, empathy, kindness, consideration for the other’s feelings, sincerity, faith, and lots and lots of TRUE LOVE!!!
