According to many studies done on this, neither is better or worse provided the couple have the SAME expectations. However, women in arranged marriages are less likely to divorce if they are being beaten because of reprisals from family (divorce is unforgivable in some groups).

culture obviously plays a big part. depends on your family situation & all, but it’s hard not to advocate for someone to follow her own feelings…
