I LOVE both fishes but I’m just not sure if they can go together. I have tried to google it but all I found was dumb compatibility charts that don’t really tell you much besides how aggressive a fish is. If dwarf gouramis and bumblebee gobies can’t go together, what can go with the gobies peacefully???
Oh yes, they would be FRESHWATER bumblebee gobies!

I am getting a 40 gallon tank soon. I really like black ghost knife fishes and I was thinking of putting a BGK in with a pleco [probably one of the smaller species].
It seems a little tight from what I have read, has anybody had any experience with these fish?
I might ditch the whole idea and go with a community tank. If you want to share your favorite fish I’d love to hear =]
I am experienced with fish, and I have had a very successful 55 gallon tank. It is the knifefish that I have little background on and I’d like to hear some personal experiences instead of just reading what the books/internet say.

I know I ask this question a lot, but I love my fish and they are so delicate.
I currently have a 30 gallon with 4 female betta fish and 9 cory catfish. Is that too crowded?
I’d really like to have more fish. My roommate is helping me set up my tank.
But I really love my the few fish that I have and would be devastated if they were to fall victim to newcomers.
So what fish would be compatible? We have these fish listed–
Danios (different kinds)
Balloon mollies
Platies
Bala shark
Marbled Angelfish
Other random freshwater angelfish
Neon Tetra
Fancy guppies (male or female?)
Plecos
Cardinal tetras
Are any of these fish compatible with my betta girls? Will they pick on my cories?
Also I am more than willing to upgrade my tank size if my 30 gallon is too small!!
@elizabeth: thank you, I figured they would be too big.

Still researching about SW tanks, and I came up with one more question (well a few really). I just love clownfish and their relationships with anemones, but I know that anemones are really really really hard to take care of and need a lot of room, so I am steering clear of those. If I get a clownfish, I would want it to have the chance to host a coral, one that can go with power compact lighting. I was thinking of getting some green star polyps, cause I heard clownfish will host those, but then I was wondering if clownfish bred in captivity would host those, and would the tomato or the ocellaris clownfish be more likely to host. Then I researched tomato clownfish, and found that they are a little more aggressive. So my questions are as follows:
1. What would be the best, hardiest, easiest to care for soft coral that clownfish would host?
2. What type of clownfish (tomato or Ocellaris) would be more likely to host, are they equal?
3. Does it matter if they are bred in captivity (in regards to hosting)
4. If I got the tomato clownfish, would that make it so that I couldn’t get a goby (which is the other fish I would plan on getting).
Thanks so so so much for your help!!!
Lily
