A friend of mine is on visitor visa (B2) and fell in love with this woman. Now they have decided to get married in US. Can B2 visa be changed to Permanent Resident after marriage to a US Citizen?
my question actually is whether my friend will have to go back to his country and then come back of fiance visa to get married in US or is it possible for him to remain in US and marry on B2 visitor visa and then file for permanent residency?

How much should a lawyer cost to file all the paper work for a green card through marriage? Also, how long does it take from applying till the foreign spouse has a work authorization and visa?

I think a friend of mine is currently in a fraudulent marriage so that her husband can obtain citizenship. They have been married for almost three years and his application is currently pending. What could happen if she wanted to get a divorce now? What kind of trouble could she be in? Could it end with her having a criminal record?
does anyone know the specifics of the citizen doing prison time or paying fines?

If I submit marriage certificate at the oversea US consulate, do I need K1 or K3? She already has a work visa, can she use that to come over and file for green card? I need some direction, thanks.
I am a US citizen and she will still be employed with the same company that got her the work visa.

My South African greatgrandfather married a woman (my greatgrandmother) whose parents emigrated from Italy before she was born. On account of said marriage would he have been eligible for Italian citizenship? Is it possible for me to claim Italian citizenship in any way according to Jus Sanguinus (the right to Italian Citizenship by virtue of having an Italian ascendant) ? I am the son of a son of the son of the man who married this Italian connection. Is it true that the 1948 law is being amended to include children born of Italian mothers before 1948? If so, what is the current status and how long before one can expect any changes?

Ok, here’s the situation.
-A husband and wife were married in Venezuela at the ages of 20 and 21 before they came to the US, specifically California.
-Both are resident aliens legally residing in Northern California with all the proper documentation.
-After 25 years of marriage, they have begun to seriously consider divorce.
-Both have substantial assets, including a home. They have 3 children together, all born in this country. They have all the accouterments of normal US citizens minus the citizenship.

Do California marriage laws still apply to them if they wanted to legally seperate considering they aren’t citizens and were married before they even set foot in this country?

Does my ex-husband needs to sign a consent that our children can migrate to US?
