My girfriend and I have been together for over two years. We are both divorced. (me twice) We each have two kids separately. None together. My first marriage lasted 10 months. No kids. My second marriage lasted 10 years. Two kids. Both of us are a little jaded about the concept of marriage. We both honestly thought we were going to be “together forever” to our last spouses. My girlfriend and I are very much in love. We’ve lived together for the last 6 months. My kids live out of state and I fly them in every third weekend. One weekend, we have no kids, the next we have just hers, then just mine, then both and the rotation continues. There are definately some crazy dynamics when it’s “yours, mine, and ours”. If fact, it’s hard to even comprehend if you aren’t living the same scenario. I won’t even try to explain. Long story short, I want to give her a ring that shows I’m not going anywhere, I’m committed to making “yours” and “mine” OURS, but I don’t want to jinx it with marriage.
