Does anybody have any good suggestions for books about forbidden love?

love
jjazzy asked:

I need a YA book on forbidden love. Two teenagers fall in love and try to keep their relationship a secret from their parents and/or friends. I am open to any suggestion except for Romeo and Juliet. I would like to read something more modern than that.

please just read romeo and juliet… anything that fits what you are looking for will just be a cheap copy of that. get something like idiots guide to shakespeare if the language is boring to you… believe me when its performed correctly (as in not lame and over the top old fasioned) its amazing! i would also say rent Romeo and Juliet by Baz Lurhman its a modernized version with the same text so you could read along etc but it has Leo Decaprio and John Leguazamo to name a few!!!

Have you tried Twilight by Stephenie Meyer?
It’s a little unorthodox and it is not something I usually read but it is sooooooo good!
All of my friends love it even if it has vampires and werewolves.
Plz don’t read it just because you don’t like vampires, because it is as much of a love story as it is fantasy.

Flowers in the Attic — teenagers hide what they’re doing from grandma, ’cause they’re brother and sister.

“Wuthering Heights”—the be all and end all on that subject. Everything else is a “spin-off”.
