TAKW HIM TO HIS FAVORITE FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, WHATEVER SPORTS TEANM AND HAVE THEM SHOW IT ON THE SCOREBOARD, HE WOULD PROBABLY DIE OF EXCITEMENT.

ask you friend to help get him involed in a scavenger hunt across town with clues take him to you. IT would be funny to get him out of bed at like 4 and he meet you somewhere wher there is an awesome veiw of the sunset.

you need to take the surprise and romance elements and add a personal touch. the personal touch is the key to making the proposal meaningful.
ie. my friend is VERY into scrapbooking. her bf at the time (now they are married) took her on a weekend trip and brought the scrapbook she had made of their relationship. On the last page he had put a photo of himself on his knee holding the ring out for her. Then he asked her to look through the scrapbook to remember all the great times they have had. As she turned to the last page he got down on his knee and held out the ring. He even wore the same clothes that he wore in the photo. Very sweet.
I am sure it means even more to her b/c he used something that was meaningful to her.
Think of something he likes. Use it. I could help w/ ideas if I knew more about him and also about your relationship.
