As for me, except for an occasional heart attack, I feel as young as I ever did.

well if you want to be scientific…activity in the prefrontal orbital lobe as evidenced by fMRI
otherwise, you are being silly….
Well think of a spooky movie=fear
Now think of a love story=love
quite easily, fear causes one to have torment. love overcomes all fear.
the fear when you first meet someone you want to be with is more born of desperation and the fact that you may be denied, rather than fear itself. this is where confidence comes in – should you ‘convince’ your self that you are worthy of dealing with the other person, you will feel uncertainty, but not fear. and yes, your pulse rate may go up, that is entirely natural. unknown experience, and if it is someone you have a desire for, mating reflexes may take over ( oh my God, what if you LOOK like you want to go that way…) very complicated, but so natural. Love can feel like your heart stops beating, you cannot breathe, and nothing else in your sight exists except that one person. This is how a life-long bond is formed. Powerful, terrifying (in a way) and very good overall. never fear, only love. few things may then come between you. I know this from experience.
its the same symptoms because your brain reacts the same way for both and many other things. the only way to tell the difference is from what you think it is.
love is fear and fear is love (if we’re only talking about these two things). my definition of love is that it is the fear of losing something treasured.
What an interesting question. The physical response is the same, but the underlying emotion very different. If you are relying entirely on your body’s physical condition to tell you what emotion you’re experiencing, you’re missing a step. Or you’re not paying attention.
Love (not the “love at first sight”) is very pleasnt and relaxing. You feel great motivation for your object of love to grow. You care a great deal about your object of love. You are creative about your object of love.
Fear is a stressful feeling. It makes you to defend yourself. I believe that it has protective purpose.
The “love at first sight” (or some similar states) is not love, it is some kind of instinctive need, not just sexual, but also a need for safety in a partnership. Thus it may have some “sympthoms” as fear. These symthoms can become more intense if you can not achieve the goal of attracting the partner immediately.
The difference between fear and love is that love gave everything without reservation and fear is having a second thought of giving everything because you are afraid to be hurt.
The fear part in love is that we fear of losing the things we care about that can hep us in our lives. Fear is simply the fear o losing ourselves, even of existence (more powerfull than the other one and instinctual). There is sometimes an interpolation, when you think that someone so special and important that you have lost is the same as loosing yourself.
