How do you feel about a woman proposing marriage to a man?

proposing marriage
Christine asked:

I am a woman, and a strong one at that, and I never let anyone treat me as less of a human being because of my sex. I can do anything a man can do, and all you women should feel the same!

So I was wondering — how do you feel about the woman being the one to propose?

I don’t see anything wrong with it. I’m more old fashioned where I feel the man should propose, but I’m not at all against women proposing.

I think it’s fine. Women are equals, so why not? Traditions and rules are made to be broken.

being a woman you feel so strongly about it then go for it lady there’s nothing degrading about it..instead it’s make you feel more good about yourself seriously

I think it’s great! Three of my friends who got married within the past 2 years proposed to their men, one of them on his birthday. Most men appreciate knowing they are loved and desired as much as women do. :)

I proposed to my hubby 19 yrs ago!! Well he is my ex..just happened last summer. Anyways…I knew he was the right one and also knew that if I waited on him to ask it would have taken forever! So I remember what my momma always told me…”never hurts to ask cuz the worse thing the person can say is No”. So I did…one night when we were walking in the rain and to my surprise he said YES! So go for it!! The worse thing he can say is no!

I don’t think you can do anything that a man can do but to answer your question i would say that it’s a terrific idea to propose a man. If he is man enough he will be thrilled. I would say go for it.

Dear, you sound as though you are ready for a fight with the nearest man available. Soften your hard edge a bit (you really sound a but hostile) and then if you have someone in mind that you wish to propose to, try and come across a little less demonstrative.

I am a bit of old fashioned but the times have changed,

After you propose make sure you take the trash out wash the car , change the oil in the truck and and walk the dog!J/K
    Good Luck!

ROCK ON SISTER!! I think thats the coolest way! I asked my hubby, and we’ve been married for 5 years and going. Marriage is a mutual agreement, and someone has to be the one to pop the question, and to me, that shows that a women truly wants to be with the man, not just saying yes because ‘what the heck, he asked’… Girls can be so bent on a wedding that they dont think clearly when asked, obviously you have head on straight and have thought of this. If this is what you want… GO FOR IT!!!!! The worst that can happen is he says no because hes not ready, but at least he knows that you love him and hes worthy enough to be with for life!! He should be honored!

I’m all for it,besides that’s what I ‘m going to do on my boyfriend b-day. women try to act all stuck up nd act like they are to good to ask a man for his hand in marriage and they always want to want on the guy,my thing is if you know you want to be with him and he proably dont wanna ask cuz he thinks you might not think it is time for it then ask him, but then some females wants that old tradition of the man asking them

  17. jsabor25 - June 7th, 2008 at 11:23 am

My answer to your proposal is YES< YES< YES. It sounds wonderful when a woman just gets up teh nerve to get her man and ask. Sometimes a guy is too shy to ask and if a woman does the job for him I bet there would be more YESes in this world. SO ask for I have said Yes already

i personally would not propose to a man.
