How long does it take before you get your marriage certificate?

I got married on Aug 15th and we sent it out that Monday certified mail. We checked the tracking and it said they got it. How much longer do you have to wait b4 your get the marriage certificate back? PS. I live in Brooklyn. I know it might be different depending on where you live. Thanks!

It takes about ten days.

the moment it is registered it is an authority and your are legally wedded. the certificate will be issued in 4 weeks normally and we will have to wait.
