Sweetheart, dentures are not the end of the world, so you have to take em out and leave em to soak over night, big deal!
My B/F had 6 of his teeth knocked out when he was very young and has had dentures since his early teens, does it bother me? No, does it bother him? No
There are worse things that could happen to you than having to wear dentures.
Dentistry and dentures have improved so much over the years that sometimes it’s very difficult to tell whose teeth are real and whose are not and I’m a dental nurse!
Implants would be an option if you dont think you could cope with dentures when the time comes, but you’d need healthy gums and bone for the implant to be successful.
Your not being vain or big headed, your a young lady who takes pride in her appearance and there is nothing big headed in that.
I can say hand on my heart my b/F’s false choppers dont offend me at all, except when he sticks them in my pint glass!

Teeth are lost in old age because they, were badly repaired some 50 years previously or become loose in their sockets – jaw bones may not be as strong.
The cost of implants is coming down but still very expensive – I’ve had 3 teeth crowned because they were getting to look very tatty (private dentist on Denplan insurance – there are no NHS dentists where I live) cost around £80 each – spend the kids’ inheritance!
You can have a tooth crowned on a post set into the bone if the root of the tooth isn’t strong enough to support it – that’s much cheaper than implants.
Fifity years ago, more teeth were lost due to gum disease and the only available treatment of drill and fill, than “weak teeth”.
As someone has already said, by the time you need dentures (if they still exist then) your partner will probably have them, too. Don’t worry about it – just practice good dental hygiene and have your regular check-ups.

my mom had implants. DO NOT WASTE your money. they asre so expensive and in a couple of years they fall out. You are 20??? That is young to have tteeth problems, but i do advise you not to play with your teeth. If you feel a tooth is coming out, do NOT start moving it (a tendency one has) It happened to me that I felt some tooth was falling. I tried my best to ignore it and it is fine now.
I also encourage you about reading about nutrition for healthy teeth.
As far as dating is concerned, I think that is a personal taste. For me, I do not like rotten teeth and I expect the person I marry to try his best in terms of appearance for his wife and maintaining hygiene. Dentures are okay, but i do not like to see black rotten teeth, so try your best not to have that.
EDIT: I may sound judgemental when I say no rotten teeth, but i think it is one’s right to feel attracted to the person they are with. Its okay as far as friendship is concerned but in sharing your life with someone, you have to be attracted to them.

Well, can you see and tell the difference in quality of life. There are many young folks with REAL bad teeth which should have dentures or serouis help for their teeth.

Why focus on the negative things so much, do you like that person?

You have to have a denture for 6 months before they can put a bridge or false tooth in so the gum has time to heal! I’m 24 and have a denture and no one can tell! My boyfr doesn’t mind, it feels strange for first few days but now i don’t notice it. You’ll be fine girl x

Dont worry about it. I wouldnt care if the person i was dating had dentures. Everybody has something that make sthem different who cares what that is.

Honestly I am female….but I think something like dentures wouldn’t bother me…I am 24 and ya know what….if I had dentures and someone judged me for them and not who I am….ta hell with them…..I don’t want them anyway.

Well, just remember that by the time you need dentures, the folks you’ll be dating will be wearing dentures, too. AND, they’ve come a long way in dentistry! Dentures are not your only option. You can have fake teeth actually transplanted into your gums so they are permanent and won’t come out. Worry not, dear!
