Loving others doesnt necessarily mean losing respect for yourself.
it’s true because loving anyone else before yourself is impossible. loving anyone at all is a feat.
don’t need philosophy for that one, just look at the odds. How many people will you ever love *over* how many people live during your lifetime. Slim to none, buddy
The Bible tells us to Love neighbor as thyself, so that tells me to love everybody the same way.
=/ How could you find enough love to love others if you can’t even find enough to love yourself?
You could love another for being much better than yourself and hating you. Its hard but you don’t have to love yourself. I’m not the B’s and E’s and recognize that. I love others, not my self. Loving yourself is a jump in ego. Being OK with yourself is necessary for a healthy relationship. Improving yourself is better. But i don’t think you have to love yourself.
Definitely. Otherwise you will be very needy and clinging.
