Well, I’m not sure what type of book you are looking for but there are a lot of sexy mystery/thriller novels.
Try the Harlequin books and I’m sure you’ll find what you are looking for. Here’s a small list of them.

If you are just trying to get a non reading male interesting in reading then try the book “Catch Me if You Can”. You may have seen the movie, but the book has more detail. Easy on the true love part.

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon
This is the first tome in the series, and less mushy, according to my husband, that the subsequent books. Excellent plot, pace, & writing.
Try any Harold Robbins book, especially The Storyteller, The Pirate, Descent from Xanadu, and Goodbye, Janette.
Robbins’ are less lengthy than Gabaldon’s.
For an excellent, lengthy, detailed, multifaceted read, with a bit of sex, try Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth.
