With age come the inner, the higher life. Who would be forever young, to dwell always in externals?

i have no kids!
but i started dating when boys asked me
yeaa…maybe not full out dating at first
like just let them go to a movie or whatever at first
and call her every once in awhile to check up on her, im sure she’ll be fine
What my rules were for my daughter were:
Group dating at 12 to 14
Double dating at 14 to 16
Solo dating at 16
I like Mollys answer…
She shouldn’t even be thinking in this manner now. Courting is what should be happening, and then not until she’s much older.
That being said, Not without many peers until shes at least 16.
I’d let her do it as long as it’s simple harmless things like rollerskating or something and be sure to check up on her. Most of the time when you’re 12 years old and you have a girlfriend or a boyfriend it’s just like a close friend of the opposite sex anyway.
are you nuts, 12 NO WAY, my daughter is only 1 but i have 4 sons, 16-18 come on 12 thats nuts
Our rule – group dating can start at 16 and single dating at 18. No need to get into a serious one-on-one type dating situation while still in high school.
A 12 year old needs to be focused on school. WAY too young to date. She needs to be having sleep overs (GIRLS only) and playing with Barbie. I played with dolls at 12, my parents didn’t let me go on a date until I was 16.
I started dating when I started high school. If you can even call it dating… 12 seems a bit young but if she’s one of those boy-crazy girls (I was/am not boy-crazy) then I don’t see why not.
after she gets her period. If she is old enough to deal with that every month, she should be trusted to date.
I was 15 when my mom started letting me date. Yea I had boyfriends when I was younger but 15 I was actually taken out on a date. I’d say wait until she’s around 14 or 15. It really depends on how responsible she is at 15. My mom only let me date at 15 because I knew my responsibilites and boundaries. 12, I believe, is too young unless she’s going with a group of friends and her date.
No way, she is too young, she must study first and at least has 18 years to date, and under your supervision.
I don’t have any daughters, I have only sons. My mother didn’t allowed me to start dating until I was 16 years of age. To me let out go out at the age of 12, but make sure she is being supervised by the parents, the aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers, sisters, or someone she is close to, and she feeled comfortable about. Just trust her judgment, please make sure she is supervised very closely.
