Arranged marriage last longer than love marriage because you are forced to marry. That makes it obvious that you can not divorce. ~GL

I just want to say that I really enjoy your questions. love marriages, especially in the US, are based on the whims of fleeting attraction. I know so many women that are just aching to get married but for what? so they can have a big party and wear a pretty dress and have a husband? marriage here is disposable just like everything else, it has pretty much lost all meaning as far as commitment goes if you ask me.

no one seems to stay with the person they married after the 20 year old rocked their world and they are in search of the perfect mate.

The reason why the divorce rate is so high is because people don’t take their vows seriously. Temptation is everywhere. Kids get married because their having sex younger, which makes them pregnant sooner.
An arranged marriage might work because they don’t care what the other person does, no jealousy. It’s more like a roommate/friendship thing.~

An arranged marriage is a marriage in which the participants don’t choose to marry each other. I think the divorce rates are increasing as womens roles have changed in relationships and are more independent.

Arranged marriage means you didnt know the person before you married them and it was arranged by your parents but still not forced because you both agreed to it but you didnt love the person before you married them…i guess they expect you to somehow love the person after marriage or learn to. Love marriage…well that’s when you love the person first and choose to marry them. Well the reason for the higher divorce rate with love marriages is because only certain cultures believe in arranged marriages and those cultures usually frown upon divorce and expect you to just live with the person no matter what. So really two people who dont love each other just force themselves to stay married just to please the rest of the family…seems like hell really.

People who enter into arranged marriages usually do so for religious or cultural reasons. People who marry for love do so at the urgings of their own heart and mind. Many times, our culture and our religion is strong enough to hold even bad marriages together. And sometimes our “love” for a person lessens with time and circumstances. Without the culture and/or religious glue, love marriages have nothing to keep them together after the love has gone.

When the marriage is arranged the two parties have no say in the matter. Arranged marriges happen for many different reasons. Some of the reasons are wealth, family name, religion. Whatever the reason might be these people think that they dont have another choice and they live with the hand that has been dealt. Love marriage is complicated. You love a person one day and then he puts his socks in the wrong place and you dont love him anymore. You see a way out of the love marrieage because you were not forced into it in a first place and you take it. and you run.
