What is true love? Does it have just one definition or is it different for each one?

true love
Inday asked:

Is this definition acceptable???

“I yell at you
Because you’re always there
For me.
If I yelled at someone else
I’d have to yell a lot louder
Because you’re the closest
One to me there is
And I don’t want to
Strain my throat.

You are my true love….”

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.-I Corinthians 13:4-8a (NIV)

You ask a question in which I can answer…..First but before I do…you also post something that puzzles me. If you are in a unhealthy relationship that is Verbally or physically abusive…..get out!! All couples have fights and yes we yell at each other sometimes but at the end of the day….I can lay next to my husband and know he is a good man with a good heart and never hurts me on purpose by his words and would always takes the time to discuss our differences. Second, I learned something from my pastor right before we got married….does God have a plan for you ….yes….is there one person in the whole world meant for just you and does god have you on that path to find them….no….you could be with many different people in Gods eyes It’s not One Man for One Women….in the end it is who “you choose” to be with that in turn God will help guide you through and help you if you ask him to Join your relationship! I don’t mean to come off as a Bible Goer or anything but that is one thing that at the end of a really bad fight where I think …God are we doomed…should we be together anymore…we just don’t agree…..I think….I choose him….God didn’t….and Now it is up to me to Ask God for help….to make things right again. So last but not least…..True Love is in the eye of the beholder and can be ever changing people …..it’s who you choose to be in love with is…your true love. I may be way off….but I hope this helps.

True love means you love the person completely and not just their outer appearance, body, or beauty.

It is agape, unconditional, does not measure the love to assess it

    Different for each one.

But the one who composed this definition is after my own heart. I bet ya there must also be someone from grade school who broke his heart, and whom he threw in the canal or something.

If there are 100 people then there are 100 definitions of true love.

True love is innocent and pure. It is 100% true for that one person.
