What state will allow *** marriage next?

Nick asked:

Gay marriage is allowed in 3 states, CA, CT and MA. What will be the next states to accept *** marriage? When? Will it happen?

Do you even watch the news? Because of Proposition 8 it’s back to TWO states, not three – CT and MA. But it will get reinstated in CA, so that will be the next state. Again.

Either New York (which already recognizes legal same-sex marriages from other states) or Iowa.

New York’s State Senate will now be controlled by Democrats, who also control New York’s House of Representatives, and New York’s Democratic Governor supports same-sex marriage. It has been mentioned that some legislators would like to pass a law legalizing same-sex marriages so New Yorkers will opt to marry there instead of marrying in neighboring Massachusetts.

In Iowa, the state Supreme Court is expected to rule next year on a lawsuit challenging that state’s same-sex marriage ban, with court arguments beginning December 9, 2008.
